I'm sure most of you have noticed the addition
of ADI radios to the AES Catalog in the last
year or so. Here's ADI and the parent company Premier. The
Premier name in the AES Catalog will give you a
list of lots of great accessories and antennas.
Another manufacturer of amateur VHF/UHF and now
HF equipment is on the Web. This company is even bigger than you
thought they were. Take a look.
Very high quality wire antennas, gas discharge
lightning protection devices, coax switches and antenna end
insulators and center insulators. Alpha Delta is also the US
distributor for the Outbacker mobile antennas.
This is the oldest organization that officially
represents radio amateurs. They also have materials to help hams
and potential hams get a license or upgrade.

Ameritron manufactures HF amplifiers. From 600
watts to legal limit, they have it covered, mobile and home

ARTSCI publishes a lot of books of
interest to amateurs. They also have a U.S. Open Repeater
database on-line. Take a look.
If you are looking for a power supply, Astron
makes nice strong solid unit. A variety of current handling
capabilities and metering options.
Baygen is the manufacturer for the FREEPLAY
portable radios. They do not require any source of power. They
use a built-in hand cranked generator and some models have solar
cells also. Great emergency radios. There's more information on
their web site.
B&W has been building wire antennas for a
long time. If you're looking for information about B&W and
their products, it's here on the web. It's a nice looking site so
take a look.
Belden is one of the largest suppliers of wire
and cable in the world. A great product line and if you are a
ham, you have to be aware of what they have to offer. A very
informative site.
Bencher makes one of the top selling keyer
paddles in the world. And now they are making straight keys too.
Good products.
The Buckmaster people produce one of the ham
radio operators great resources. A CD ROM Call sign database. And
more. They have one of the most extensive search engines on the
CD so that even if you only know a part of a ham's last name, or
his ZIP code, you can run a search on it. Plus, some shareware.
Well, OK, a LOT of shareware.
If you are building antennas you should be
looking at baluns. That's what Centaur provides uis is a good
line of baluns including one for ladder-line.
CES (Comms Electronics Specialties)
You know the company best because of their
simplex auto-patches but they do a lot more. CTCSS Encode/Decode
sub-miniature modules, Alarm Monitoring & Telemetry, Alarm
console and more. Take a look at the other things CES does.
Comet makes very good HF mobile antennas, UHF, VHF and dual band antennas and VHF, UHF and dual band base station antennas.
Communications Specialists Inc.
If you want to add a tone board to almost
anything, this company has been around for a long time supplying
add-on boards to hams and commercial applications.
Your own personal Private Phone Patch. This is
one of the companies that makes the equipment to do it. They also
make repeater controllers and DTMF decoders.
Cushcraft Antennas has an antenna for you
whether you are an HFer or VHFer. DX or ragchewer. Here's one of
the best selling antenna manufacturers around.
Magazines, Calendars and all kinds informational books about amateur radio.
DCI has some passband filters that will help
you elimanate those annoying out-of-band signals that you hear on
144, 220 and 440. This is good quality stuff.
I have been using DeLorme for over a year now
in conjunction with APRS A4 and also as a map sytem for trips and
as an address locator. Nice product. Their website has some good
information on it and some nice support information in case you
have run into a problem.
Lots of specifications and lots of pictures of

AES supplies Gamber Johnson slide mounts for mobile instalations. When your rig is attached to the Gamber Johnson slide mount, all of the system connections are made at once. A quality piece of equipment.
The Gap Antenna people have put together a very
nice site. Really loaded with information about Gap antennas and
vertical antennas in general. If you are interested in antennas,
be sure to take a look.
Garmin is one of the leaders in personal GPS units and their Street Pilot is an absolutely amazing piece of equipment.
Are you looking for a roof-top antenna support? Glen Martin Engineering has some of the nicest equipment available. If you have or want a tower you should find out what a "Hazer" is too. On top of that, these are really nice people to work with.
Really nice site. Well done with a lot of
information for the person interested in Grundig equipment.
This is one of the veteran companies in the
digital communications field. My first digital communication was
RTTY using a HAL ST-6. Even then they were known for selling
GREAT equipment. Take a look at what they are doing now. CLOVER
is a specialty of theirs.
Bob Heil and Heil Sound are dedicated to making
you sound better on the air. Heil has a history of great
accomplishments in the sound field. While you are there,
take a look at the link to Bob's personal site. He's got some
interesting hobbies, besides Ham Radio.
Another of the major manufacturers of Amateur
Radio, Marine Radio and Business Communications. Some really
great radios! Take a look at the new IC-746.
International Antennas manufacture the very
good Double Bazooka 1/2 wave antennas for 80M, 40M and 160M.
They brought you Digital Signal Processors. Now
here's some other information from them. DSP devices are one of
the "hot" items for hams lately.
Kansas City Tracker (LL Grace)
The Kansas City Tracker is a recent addition to the AES line of amateur radio equipment. It has the reputation of being one of the best of the satellite tracking systems around. It interfaces with a variety of tracking programs and hardware. This web site is nicely done and is a good example of a site designed for customer support.
Kantronics is one of the leaders in the
manufacture and development of digital communications equipment.
They are also responsible for the development of a new form of
digital communications called GTOR. They are still under
construction but the site is loaded with information. Not only
about Kantronics, but general information about digital
communications too.

OK, so what do you want to know about telephone
line filters? Here's the place to start. K-COM provides
some of the best protection against RFI on phone lines that there
is. And their site is loaded with good information.
Kenwood Communications Corporation
Kenwood's very high-tech site is loaded with
information including an FTP site for downloading Kenwood
bulletins and software to operate their radios.
Headphones and Speakers are what Koss does. If
you are looking for headphones to plug into your receiver or
transceiver, you should take a lok at Koss. (And if you are
visiting Milwaukee, you should drive past the Koss billboards on
North I-43. They have some of the best Puns around.)
Larsen is one of the quality manufacturers of
VHF/UHF antennas for mobiles and handhelds. Good solid equipment.
Customers love this company. They make great
antennas and accessories for HF, VHF, UHF and Microwave. All you
have to do is talk to the satellite people and M2 is what
you hear about.
MAHA makes the latest innovation in ham radio
rechargeable batteries. It's called Nickel Metal Hydride and
there are some significant advantages over NiCad.
Maxon produces some very nice commercial, CB,
Family Radio Service and short range transceivers. We have had
the 49 mhz short-range headsets and the popular Family Radio
Service (FRS) short range FM hand held radios.
MFJ makes all kinds of the types of accessories
and devices that help the amateur station work well. They add
more and more all the time.
VHF and UHF 12 volt operated solid state
amplifiers. If you need a little help to make the contact or to
get on that satellite, this is one of the places to start.

PacComm has some very interesting TNCs

Palomar Engineers handles ferrite toroid kits, antenna accessories and testing devices. They have always been a quality oriented company. The site is new and not completely finished but keep an eye on it. It will have the complete product line on the site very soon.
Plug Percon's Spectrum CD ROM into your
computer and look for any land/mobile frequency in the US! Decent
search engine built in on the CD.
Lightning and zoning laws are two of the things
that make antennas a source of difficulty. Well, PolyPhaser can
help you with one of them. Polyphaser has great hardware for a
system of lightning protection that really works. They are really
serious about protecting electronic equipment from damage from
lightning and are very well respected in commercial broadcasting.
QRZ (Walnut Creek)
Walnut Creek has CD ROMs about all kinds of
things. The Hobbes collection, Simtel, the Antennas CD ROM and of
course, the HAM QRZ ham call sign database. They also put
together a nice web site. Lots of information.
Neat little kits for the person who loves
the smell of hot rosin. Or wants to like the smell of hot
rosin. Not much of this type of stuff around any more but
Ramsey does some real nice, fun stuff.
Very nice digital Power /SWR meters and VSWR
monitors.
SGC is an old name in quality Marine HF
equipment. They found that their transceivers and automatic
tuners work nicely on the ham bands also so here we are. They are
now making transceivers and power amplifiers for the amateur
radio market. The SG-2020 low power all band transceiver
has gotten a lot of hams waiting patiently. It is going to be a
big hit!
This is a new site on the web but it is
progressing
AES is now handling this well
respected Russian tube manufacturer for their high power tubes.
Aftermarket DSP units and the AEA TNCs. Lot's
of different possibilities.
Tripp Lite produces Power supplies, inverters and surge suppressors.
Uniden is one of the largest manufacturers of radio equipment in the world. AES handles their scanners, CB radios and Marine radios.
What goes better with a ham station than some
nice aluminum yagis on a tower in the back yard? US Tower can
help with that part of the dream.
Vectronics manufactures antenna tuners,
wattmeters, low pass filters and dummy loads and power supplies
too. Nice looking products.
It seems to me that Vibroplex is the first
company I remember seeing ads for when I first got
interested in amateur radio. They have been turning out high
quality keys a l-o-o-ong time. Even if you don't operate CW,
think how a nice Vibrokeyer, Bug or straight key would look on
the desktop. Wow!
W9XT Contest Card (Unified Microsystems)
Microprocessors in the world of contesting. I
love it. You plug the card into a PC and it gives you 16 seconds
of very natural audio. It can be partitioned into 4 sections and
seperately selected. Lots of other features.
This Australian based company (lots of things
happening in VK-land!) makes a PC based shortwave receiver.
Completely software based control system.
Yaesu is one of the major manufacturers of ham
radio transceivers and accessories. What amateur hasn't heard of
the FT-1000? They have some really great radios for everyone.
